THE CULTURAL RELEVANCE OF THE SCARLET THREAD EP

Relevance has always been one of the prayers of the band. My heart was recently opened to see how 2 songs on the scarlet thread EP fit the "relevance label". HE WHO DWELLS and PEACE OVER TROUBLED WATERS have taken on new meaning considering the subtle tension that has characterized JOS,Plateau State, the home city of the band in the last few weeks. It has become clear that as believers, we must put our trust in God for protection not in the security operatives that can be seen on the streets of jos seeking to maintain law and order and like the psalmist declare "HE WHO DWELLS in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty" because except He watches over the city those operatives labour in vain. Our confession must be different from the rest of the world around us.It must line up with God's word for our safety and protection.
The second thought is that God has placed us here to be peace makers bringing God's love where there is hate, hurt, pain and misery. This is one of the ways the world will see us living lives of worship. Love is the greatest force God has blessed us with and we must use it to the uttermost. We must be agents of God's love bringing healing and soothing the pain that exists all around us.
The Scarlet Thread EP is truely a culturally relevant CD that God is using to speak a culturally relevant theme to the body of Christ the world over.
